Pocket Calculators by Elektronika - Original Russian / Soviet Propaganda Poster

Original vintage advertising poster from 1983, promoting the Soviet 'Elektronika' pocket calculator product family.

The first Soviet programmable calculator was the Elektronika B3-21, released in 1977. It was sold for 350 rubles, which was about three months' salary for an engineer. Later, in 1982, they introduced the more advanced Elektronika B3-34.

The design of this great Soviet poster is clearly influenced by the cover art and ad campaign of Kraftwerk's 1981 single, "Pocket Calculator."
